Brief Description: Flight #25, Fuel @2500' 3390rpm, 00:51
|
|
Flight #25 was to determine cruise fuel consumption at PA2500', 3390RPM (WOT). Climbed to PA2500', flew triangular pattern at cruise altitude for 31.5 minutes and a cruise descent to KPYM.
AWOS KPYM 170/07, V10 28c/15c, 30.14, DA 1500'. GTW 886#. 27.5c @PA2500', DA 4209'.
Fuel flow rate at DA4209', 3390rpm (WOT) was 4.48GPH. TAS ~135mph, TAC time :51
The heading function of the Tru-Trak autopilot would go into a wing rocking action when engaged. The "micro activity" (menu item 5) was set at a mid-range of 16. I reduced that to 0 and that eliminated the wing oscillations.
I adjusted the right aileron down 1.5 turns and the left aileron down 1 turn to try and get the ailerons more level with flight loads and correct a slight right wing "heavy" condition. After the adjustment, the ailerons still seem too high in flight and I still have a "heavy" right wing. I need to get that sorted out to continue with lateral/directional control stability tests.
